Connecting Social Accounts

Last updated: June 2026

Connecting a social account lets Anthyx publish posts, pull analytics, and monitor the inbox for that platform. Each account is connected once via the platform's own OAuth flow — Anthyx never sees or stores your password.

Supported platforms and requirements

  • Instagram Business — must be a Business or Creator account, linked to a Facebook Page. Personal Instagram accounts are not supported.
  • LinkedIn Page — requires Page admin access. Personal profile posting is also supported for text-only posts.
  • X / Twitter — uses OAuth 1.0a. You may need to approve Anthyx in your X developer settings if you have third-party app restrictions enabled.
  • Facebook Page — requires Page admin role. Connecting a Facebook account also authorises Instagram if the accounts are linked.
  • TikTok — Business account required for scheduling. Creator accounts can connect but are limited to analytics read-only.
  • Pinterest — Business account required. Personal accounts can connect but scheduling requires the Business upgrade on Pinterest's side.

How to connect an account

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts.
  2. Click Connect next to the platform you want to add.
  3. A pop-up window opens and redirects you to the platform's login page. Log in with the account you want to connect — not a personal account if you're connecting a business page.
  4. Grant the requested permissions. Anthyx requests the minimum permissions needed for posting and analytics.
  5. You are returned to Anthyx and the account appears as Connected with a green indicator.

Re-authorising an expired token

Platform access tokens expire after 60–90 days depending on the platform. Anthyx sends an email and in-app notification 7 days before expiry. To re-authorise:

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts.
  2. Click Reconnect next to the account with the warning badge.
  3. Complete the OAuth flow again — this issues a fresh token.

Scheduled posts that fall within the expired window are held in a Pending reconnect state and published automatically once the account is reconnected, provided the scheduled time has not passed by more than 2 hours.

Account limits by plan

  • Free — 1 social account total
  • Starter — 5 accounts
  • Growth — 15 accounts
  • Agency — 30 accounts (additional accounts available as add-ons)

Accounts are counted per workspace, not per brand. A single Instagram account used across two brands counts as one account toward your limit.

Disconnecting an account

Click the three-dot menu next to the account in Settings → Accounts and selectDisconnect. This immediately revokes Anthyx's access token on the platform's side. Posts already published are not affected. Future scheduled posts tied to this account will fail — move them to a different account or delete them before disconnecting.
